This year our focus for Arts Week was portrait. Our class chose Roy Lichtenstein as their inspiration to learn some new art skills and produce these fantastic portraits. The children learnt about the 'Ben Day' dots system and how this produced an effective colour without overusing ink. The children experimented with different ways of creating dots for this effect. In the end, they chose to use bubble wrap to print their background and use felt pens to create their portraits. The children had lots of fun posing in different ways to get the desired expression for their portraits.
