The weather was certainly on our side for our recent trip to Dartmoor. We arrived at Postbridge where we met our guide from the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust. She took us on our walk through the Forest to where there are remains of Stone Age/Bronze Age stone houses. At that momenet, we were inspected by a couple of stunning Dartmoor ponies before we carried on to view some of the stone rows and an ancient tomb. In the distance, we caught of glimpse of the stunning Belliver Tor, which was our destination for lunch time. Climbing the Tor was an amazing experience as the sky was so clear: we really could see for miles. Later that day, we continued on our journey through the woods and learnt all about the rocks and the trees. Our guide also told a couple of intriguing Dartmoor legends before we headed back to the coach for our return journey to school. The children were amazing and had a superb time (even if some of them came home a little boggy!).
