TEMPORARY: Fixed term contract to cover maternity
The Trustees of Riviera Education Trust and Governors of Roselands Primary School thank you for your interest in the post of Class Teacher. The successful candidate to this temporary position will be expected to take up post on Monday 3rd September 2018. It is expected that the role will cease on April 5th 2019. There is a possibility it could be extended to the end of the academic year 2019.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POST
The Trustees and Governors seek to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced teacher to join the school to cover a fixed term maternity leave of two terms. You will lead learning and teaching within a KS1/KS2 class, planning and delivering an exciting, creative and engaging curriculum that meets the needs and interests of all pupils within the class. You will deploy support staff effectively to support, extend and assess pupils’ learning. Learning will focus on key skills in English and maths as well as social, emotional and personal development and all areas of the National Curriculum.
A key aspect of the role will be supporting parents in their children’s learning, developing pupils’ independence and curiosity, monitoring and assessing pupil progress and reporting on progress to parents and senior leaders. You will also be responsible for creating an exciting, stimulating and hands-on learning environment for the pupils in your class.
You will be well-supported by a Phase Leader within your team. You will benefit from a supportive Induction Programme and will be allocated a professional and pastoral mentor as well as Continuing Professional Development and opportunities to engage in action research through The Torbay Teaching School Alliance.

Salary will be in accordance with the Teachers Pay Spine, dependant upon qualifications and experience.
