Dear Parents / Carers
Re: Headteacher appointment
I am sure that you will want to join with me in wishing Mr O’Connor every success as he moves on to pastures new in the New Year, but I know that you must also be concerned with what is in place to ensure your children get the high standard of education that we all want for them, after Chris has left.
Over the past two months, governors, trustees and myself have advertised nationwide for a new Head of School for Roselands, and after shortlisting four candidates, we held two days of rigorous interviews last week. Those interviews did a good job, because as a result, we realised that none of our candidates were the right person to lead Roselands forward at this point in time. This means that we will be going out to advert again in the New Year and with a view to appointing a new Head of School to start working with the children, staff and families at Roselands from September 2020.
So what will happen between now and then?
From January 2020, we are delighted to have appointed an Interim Headteacher, Mrs Claire Hepher, who will be working alongside Mrs McCaig and the rest of the school team, to ensure that Roselands is the outstanding school we all aspire to for our children.
Mrs Hepher is an experienced Headteacher and Education Consultant, and she is very much looking forward to meeting you and especially all of your children in January.
Thank you in advance for the support and warm Roselands welcome that I know you will give to Mrs Hepher, and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
