All the children in Year 3 and 4 had the most fantastic walk along the seafront, into town and back to school again to find evidence for our local historical study. We discovered that many of the buildings that were built in the Victorian period are still here today. We compared pictures from this period to how things look now. We also used maps to help us locate specific places. Many of the children regularly visit all these areas of Paignton but they had never noticed the buildings and were amazed by the detail and decorations. They loved finding out about the 'Cabbage Patch' in Palace Avenue and the 'Singer' workers' houses. The children walked a total of 6 miles and were a real credit to our school.
