World Book Day 2022

Roselands celebrated World Book Day in Style!

Character parade

Our exciting day began with a character parade in the playground. This was the first time in a long while that we have had the whole school together and the atmosphere was buzzing! The children clapped each other as they paraded around showing off their amazing World Book Day outfits!  The effort made by the children (and parents and teachers!) to showcase a range of wonderful book characters was fantastic!

Reading in Unusual Places Competition

The Roselands children showed their amazing creativity in our Reading in Unusual Places competition. The reading spots that they came up with were bizarre and very entertaining! It was difficult to choose just four winners. This competition really has proved that you can read just about anywhere!

Our winners were: Lochley, Darcie, Lilly-Rose and India!

The Book Swap

There's nothing quite like that feeling that you get when you get to choose a new book. All of the children at Roselands got that feeling on World Book Day in our brilliant Book Swap!  The children all donated their pre-loved books so that somebody else could enjoy them!

The Masked Reader

The children were tasked with identifying the staff members reading The Gruffalo. Not only were they masked, but their voices were also disguised! The classes did brilliantly and we had three classes who were correct on every single guess!

Our winning classes; Diamond, Peridot and Opal,

Other fun activities

The staff planned a whole host of other activities to fill up the day with book related fun. The children were making bookmarks, their own character puppets, reading with other classes, listening to Michael Morpurgo online and many more exciting things besides!

Although we did lots of fun things to celebrate World Book Day, everyday at Roselands is a celebration of books and reading!
