Children's Parliament

Torbay Children's Parliament competition: 20th June 2025

In year 5, all children get the opportunity to take part in the annual Torbay Children's Parliament competition.  This involves children working in teams of 4 to research and present about a topical and pressing issue  - aimed at empowering primary school children to amplify their voices .

The theme for this year's competition, set by Torbay Council, was:

Your voice, your future: inspiring young voters! Thinking about the importance of having a say in decisions that affect them and how young people can be empowered to participate in democracy, how can we encourage young people to register and vote?

Following a vote in school, the winning group competed against schools from across Torbay to see who put their views and ideas across the best.
