HEALTHY HOLIDAYS AND ACTIVITIES PROGRAMME 2023

Parents and carers across Torbay may be eligible to benefit from a free holiday clubs programme, known as ‘Healthy Holidays’.

Children aged 5 to 16 years who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals or are Electively Home Educated will have the chance to take part in a range of free activities during the school holidays.

Healthy Holidays clubs involve helping young people learn new skills and take part in enriching activities. These include sport, music, dance, drama, art, cooking and gardening. The clubs are also a great way to improve socialisation, as they help young people to have fun with friends old and new.

This local programme will be operating over the school holiday period and families will be contacted by schools with the holiday club details and booking information. A healthy meal will be provided to everyone taking part.

We are proud to work with a variety of providers to develop an exciting and enriching programme of activities. Our providers include schools, local voluntary and community groups, childcare providers and local businesses.

Sessions are taking place around Torbay. This year’s Easter holiday club providers are:

  • Shear Soccer
  • Kinetic Sports Group
  • Turning Heads
  • Taleblazers
  • Great Parks Community Centre
  • Play Torbay
  • Sporty Stars
  • Achieve 4 All
  • Love Enterprise
  • Imagine Multicultural Group

Families whose children are in receipt of benefits-related free school meals or are Electively Home Educated who are interested in booking their children onto one of the sessions can do so by visiting the events pages, or by contacting the holiday club providers directly.

For information regarding support for families and individuals with the cost of living, please see the webpage on our website  Help with the cost of living - Torbay Council or a webpage created by Government  Help for Households - Get government cost of living support.

The ‘Healthy Holidays’ activities commissioned for the Easter holidays 2023 are detailed on the Healthy Holidays page of the Torbay Council website: https://www.torbay.gov.uk/healthy-holidays/
